Customer Service Sales Specialist / Studio Assistant

VéloColour is a world-class custom bicycle painting company, cycling product producer and carbon and clothing/kit repair shop. Working out of a converted auto body shop in Toronto’s west end, we are committed to local, high-quality production. With a strong focus on environmental and social concerns, much of our business growth and progress is oriented towards an equitable future for the entire VC team, the environment and our community.

 What’s the Opportunity?

Your primary job will be acting as the first line in sales communication. This is mainly through email and telephone inquiries; knowledge of important project related factors is necessary and general understanding of bicycles is required. You will be providing customer service on all our offerings, everything from custom paint and touch-ups to kit repairs and damaged carbon concerns as well as answering questions about the products we produce in house. There are various co-ordination / organizational aspects of the job on top of specific communications needs including shipping online orders and store upkeep.

 Duties Include

Communications/Sales:

  • Be a friendly and knowledgeable voice to all new and old VéloColour customers

  • Communicate everything from timelines, estimates, project details, shipping, details etc

  • Correspondence with stores/clubs about the sales of custom bags

  • Update / Monitor open dates / times, product inventory etc. on the website (Squarespace) and google

Shipping:

  • Packaging online orders for domestic and international orders

  • Processing returns and product repairs/replacements

  • Unpacking paint projects when they arrive and documenting what has been received

  • Billing and shipping of kit repairs

 Other:

Depending on experience and time availability there are a number of additional opportunities to contribute to other elements of the business. We are a small team and as such there many jobs, skilled and otherwise to be completed. If you have additional experience in other areas such as marketing, copy writing, photography, product research and development, retail, etc. that you think would contribute to the business we are open to discussing these on top of the current job requirements.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Knows and understands bicycles and related parts

  • Has a background in customer relations and sales

  • Is an efficient and effective communicator

  • Has a good grasp of the English language both written and verbal 

  • Has the ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated to work efficiently with good time management skills

  • Is able to juggle ever changing company tasks.

  • Can work without distractions, in an organized fashion

  • Has a positive attitude

  • Has a desire to grow and learn new skills

Bonus Skills

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Quickbooks online

  • Squarespace

  • Is stoked to campion a company who fundamentally cares about the environment

Pay & Benefits

  • Depending on qualifications and availability this job will be anywhere from 15-25hrs per week

  • Competitive wage based on experience – minimum pay at $21.00/hour (Toronto’s living wage)
